Naya Rivera’s followers are expressing their frustration with the Recording Academy after the late singer, who died final July, was omitted from the Grammys’ in memoriam section.
Though the 2021 Grammy Awards was a historic night time for girls in music, followers are taking difficulty with the Recording Academy for omitting Naya Rivera from its in memoriam section throughout Sunday night time’s broadcast. The Glee alum died in late July after drowning in a tragic boating accident. Followers have been fast to note Naya’s absence from the tribute section, which honored artists together with, Pop Smoke, Little Richard, Kenny Rogers, John Prine, Gerry & The Pacemakers and plenty of others.
“For the reason that recording academy failed to incorporate GRAMMY-nominated Naya Rivera within the tribute, please take a while to consider her in the present day,” one fan tweeted, noting the singer’s historical past with the Grammys. As a member of the Glee solid, she obtained two Grammy nominations — one in 2011 and in 2012 — for Greatest Pop Efficiency by a Duo or Group with Vocals for “Don’t Cease Believin‘”, and Greatest Compilation Soundtrack for Visible Media for Glee: The Music, Quantity 4, respectively.

The latter left followers confused as to why the Recording Academy would omit the Naya from its memoriam tribute. “Can’t imagine the #GRAMMYs didn’t honor you.
