Pilots on the helm of a packed Qantas airplane are pressured to make an emergency touchdown at Brisbane Airport

A Qantas passenger airplane has been pressured to make an emergency touchdown at Brisbane Airport after an issue was reported with the plane’s touchdown gear.

The Qantas Sprint-8 airplane carrying 64 passengers and travelling from Newcastle requested to be given a precedence touchdown about 9.26am on Thursday.

The pilots acquired a warning mild of their cockpit telling them there was a ‘potential problem’ with the touchdown gear, a Brisbane Airport spokeswoman stated.

There have been no reported accidents from the airplane – which needed to be towed again to the terminal.
