Two girls have tragically died and a younger woman is combating for her life after a horror Christmas Eve freeway crash in Victoria’s west. 

A Jeep Cherokee and a Holden Trax collided head-on about 10.25am on Thursday morning on Portland-Nelson Rd in Mount Richmond close to Comptons Highway. 

The motive force and entrance seat passenger of the Holden each died on the scene, whereas the teenage passenger of the Holden has been airlifted to the Royal Youngsters’s Hospital.

Portland-Nelson Highway has been closed in each instructions between Comptons Highway and Blacks Highway.
